the message behind the movie (4)

Science and philosophy agree that the universe has not always existed and that things cannot create themselves. Things that have not always existed must have been created by something else. Thus if we trace the chain all the way back to the beginning, we must find something that has always existed and that explains all the things that have not always existed. The best explanation for this is the eternal God. Agnostic astronomer Robert Jastrow put it this way: “For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.”
