day 60 (trek 2): put a psalm in my heart

When you complete today’s reading and sketching – Psalm 147-150 – you’ll have made it through the entire book of Psalms over the course of the past sixty days. Congratulations!

This morning let’s read Ps. 147. As for me, I’ll sketch some heads of wheat.

“Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! … He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat.” (147.12,14)

Around noon today, read Ps. 148-149. I’ll sketch some stars and a tambourine.

“Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars!” (148.3)

“Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King! Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!” (149.2-3)

And not long before bedtime tonight, I’ll sketch a pair of cymbals.

“Praise the Lord! … Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!” (150.1a,5)
