Today we read about politics of two kinds as we mull over, and are called to join prayer in, Psalm 93-94.
Morning. In Psalm 93 someone extols the perfect reign and rule of God.
“The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.” (vs. 1)
Consider: what does the Lord’s reign in your life look like to others?
Evening. In Psalm 94, someone complains to God about human politics/governance gone bad.
“… the wicked … pour out arrogant words … They slay … the foreigner … Can a corrupt throne be allied with you — a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?” (vs. 3b-4a,20)
Consider: what do the lives of others matter to you in light of who really rules?
