Date palms grow on top of, and around, tel Megiddo. Date palms were first brought there by workers brought to Megiddo from Egypt. “Most of palm trees growing on the tel were inadvertently planted by them as the discarded date pips.” (Megiddo; ERETZ Ha-Tzvi, Inc., 2009; p.10)
